The BOOKMAN story began on a university campus way back in 2007 where the founders, Victor, Fredrik, Johan and David met each other and discovered their mutual passion for bicycling, design and business. They decided it would be fun to make a project together and began looking for ideas. Biking was, and still is, the number one way for Swedish students to get around, but the majority are riding in the dark. They figured out a way to equip them with lights which made both students and the police happy. What started as a small scale social project rapidly grew into a nationwide concept and they began to realize that there might be a way for them to combine their business experience with a passion for bikes and great design. In 2010 they all moved to Stockholm teamed up with Mattis and began the work on the brand. The first product line, BOOKMAN Light, was released in the summer of 2011.
