Yeasayer EPICness

By Courtney Sanders

Yeasayer released All Hour Cymbals last year and defined that whole African-chic by way of Brooklyn, New York thing that was going down, and kind of led one to believe that, although they hadn’t quite nailed the perfect Eastern inspired pop song this time round, great things were to come.

And here they are:

Lead single, ‘Ambling Alp’ off their soon-to-be-released album Odd Blood starts where tracks like ‘2080′ and ‘Wait for the Summer’ finished but next-levels almost everything  - except for the subtleties, there are none. But therein lies the brilliance as the chorus bursts with inescapable positivity: “Stick up for yourself, son / Never mind what anybody else done”.

Here’s the video:

    Two things:

    1) you can get a hi-res version of the video from here.

    2) “Ambling Alp” is justifiably WOW
