Siwa Oasis, Egypt
Jess and Jed went to Siwa Oasis for their honeymoon. Thank you immensely for sharing your exceptional photos! Siwa is an oasis in Egypt, located between the Qattara Depression and the Egyptian Sand Sea in the Libyan Desert. It is one of Egypt’s isolated settlements, with 23 000 people, mostly ethnic Berbers who speak a distinct language of the Berber family known as taSiwit…WHO KNEW?? Its fame lies primarily in its ancient role as the home to an oracle of Amon, check out the amazing ruins! They are into olives, dates and making baskets. Much attention has been given to creating hotels that use local materials and play on local styles. How bad to you want to go to Siwa right now? I love how washed out and peaceful everything looks with splashes of pom pom color. Such an itch to leave the cold, feel some sand and touch the pyramids.
Peep Jed Lind’s photography under work, photography and the various headings “limelight” is a fav!
Additional thanks to good old Wikipedia for brief blurb about Siwa Oasis
